Lunch With Mom: Pepper Lunch's Beef Pepper Rice with Egg

So today, me and my mom decided to go to a mall close by. Our main agenda was to get two of our dogs ID for the mall's pass.

After acquiring the IDs for our dogs, we decided to have our lunch as well.

Before we decide on where we're gonna have lunch, we argued a little. Do you hate it when you and your friends (or family) go out and your only dilemma is where to eat?

When you're with my mom, you'll have this never ending discussion on where to eat!
Could you please decide? I mean, anywhere! just anywhere! I'M HUNGRY!!! ha ha ha!

She would not directly say where she wants to eat, but she would kept on giving hints.

Mom: do you like to eat at.. BUT..
Me: Okay, I don't mind where (not a picky eater)
Mom: okay, are you sure? I may not be satisfied there.
Me: Okay. How bout..
Mom: Okay, if that's what you like.. (sad voice)
Me: If you don't like, where do you want to eat?
Mom: How bout..
Me: Okay,  let's go.
Mom: But the food doesn't taste good.
Me: If you don't like the food, why did you suggest it?
Mom: Oh, may be you like the food there.
Me: Mom, anywhere is fine, you're the picky eater.
Mom: Okay, How bout.. (the first establishment she mentioned)
Me: Okay, let's go?
Mom: But I would not be satisfied eating there.
Me: So where else do you want to eat?

(after an hour of conversing)

(Beef Pepper Rice with Egg)
I always add egg in their Beef Pepper Rice, I like the toasted smell of egg :)

We ended at the first restaurant she mentioned..
x . X

Still a good choice, but we have to go through a lot.

First time: Kichitora Ramen

Today, me and my parents went to a mall, and saw a ramen house named 'Kichitora Ramen'. My mom wanted to eat there, so we tried it.

The place is very nice and neat. Very minimalist in terms of decor. Its quite small, but very cozy.

This is what I ordered, hot spicy miso ramen.
First of, I seldom eat Japanese ramen. I don't know what a real Japanese ramen should taste like.

I like the noodles of this ramen house. Psychologically, when I see any type of noodles, especially egg noodles that are yellow colored, I would automatically assume that this would have a very starchy taste to it. But, it does not have that starchy taste.

On top, you can see the bamboo shoot. I'm not sure if it is meant to be served cold, or you need to mix it with the soup, but it is cold.

The meat is flavorful, although not all piece are "juicy", some are very dry.

Now for the broth, I think the broth is the most important part of a ramen. Since I order a spicy one, I'm expecting a right balance of the taste of the soup, and the hotness. For me, its just so so? It taste good, but not as good as the others that I  have tried before. Also, the soup is quite oily for me, maybe because of the spicy oil to it. Whenever I tried to sip the soup, I feel the texture is a bit the same with oil texture.

(Chicken Teriyaki)

You will either love or hate their chicken teriyaki. The meat is tender, and juicy. The taste is also good. The only downside, its salty. Salty in a way that this could be paired with rice. I think they also serve chicken teriyaki with rice, need to try that next time.

cons:
- Their serving time is slow. It took for more than 30mins for our ramen to be erved. The chicken teriyaki was served last, it took almost a hour. We were almost done with our ramen.
Ps: it is already 3pm when we dine, they are only serving one table that time.

Overall, I would probably give this
7/10

First Time: Uncle Fishball

Today, I went to a newly opened store Uncle Fishball.
I forgot to capture the place, I was focusing more on the food. The store is more like a liesure cafe' type of shop.

First of, this is i think one of their specialties. Fried chicken wing.
This is sold per piece (php60). This is good and at the same time bad.
Good, it taste great. A bit salty, which i like btw, and tasty. The bad side, i'm not sure maybe its just mine, but i think, its not entirely cooked. There are parts of the wing where i can not eat because its a bit hard, like chewy hard. I even saw a little blood dripping.

Curry udon

Curry noodles (dry)

For these two noodles, i'm a bit disappointed. It taste bland. Curry plus water.. there's no saltyness, no powerful taste of curry. You can smell the curry, but thats just about it. However, in dry curry noodles, you'll see 3 red meat. It's actually taiwan's (or maybe alike) famous sausage. Now, this is good.

This is not your ordinary waffle. This is Hong Kong style egg waffles. This is also good. Crispy on the sides, very soft inside.

Curry fishballs. Same as the noodles, lack of taste.

Custard and chocolate pudding. Not bad, not too sweet, but feels like dessert. Also, the texture is smooth, not too mushy.
(Other flavors: custard, chocolate, milk)

Here is their menu.

I wanted to try their french toast, there something about pastries that i really really love.

First Timer: Raspberry Kitkat

So I'm a person who seldom eat sweets. Not that i dislike them, it's like a love/hate relationship. Love, its gooooood, hate, because it makes you feel guilty.

Today, i feel like eating sweets and tried this raspberry kitkat.

Surprisingly, its not like your typical chocolate kitkat that's purely focusing on sweetness. It's sweet and a little bit of raspberry sourness, PERFECT!

Japan's Onigiri On The Go!

So my sister came home from Japan, and the first thing she gave us is this onigiri, soy sauce tuna mayo.

I've always been fond of Japanese food, although this is not my first time trying onigiri on-the-go, I'm still quite excited to taste this.

My first onigiri on-the-go was from Taiwan (from 7 Eleven), surprisingly, it exceeded to what I was expecting. That is why, I'm expecting a better version because it came from Japan!

After finishing the onigiri..

I'm a little bit disappointed. I find the Taiwan's version to be more tasteful and flavorful. Maybe wrong flavor (had salmon flavor from Taiwan)? Also, the Taiwan's rice is more fluffy for me, too bad i don't have a picture of it :(

Overall, still good! :p

To make this short, this blog will be all about food, of course. This will also be where I would like to share things like where I want to eat, where I want to try new food ventures and stuffs.
